What started with a simple idea, evolved into a 3D model and eventually into The Caroline herself. As our 3D rendering became reality, we poured silicone molding around it to create precise inner and outer molds. We followed a similar process as we did with our backup boat; mixing cement, creating a bottom layer, suspending the inner mold within the outer mold via a pieced together contraption, and filling the sides. While the process was messy, The Caroline came out in one piece. Once again, we had to patch some holes with more cement, but they held up well.
